Rachel, Katie and Ted

The main points they spoke about were: 

• the blood on the hands scene [macbeth style]
• the introductory time-lapse 
• the 'drilling type' sound in the background

The showcase evening

The showcase went very well and we was able to get a lot more feedback from a new audience. Ms Foster put together a questionnaire and left one on each seat to make sure we could gain as much feedback as possible.
The questions included:

1. What did you understand about the narrative?
2. Did it fit the chosen genres conventions?
3. How did the ending make you feel?
4. Any suggested improvements should we film the opening again?

As a group we are going to collect our responses and make it into data that we can work from to develop our self analysis.

Showcase preparation

The media department are hosting a showcase evening which is opened up to anybody who wants to attend on the 20th March. All the AS groups and A2 groups are going to show their film openings/ music videos. Our group are going to give a brief description to introduce our film opening before we play it to the audience. We will include a brief synopsis and future plot developments, should it be turned into a full length film. We are going to mention how the characters mental health appears to be deteriorating as this is one of the main themes of our opening.

Trapped - final film opening

After many reviews and additional changes, we have completed our film opening. So here is our final and official film opening, "Trapped":

The pacing

The length of the final shot of our film opening was something that was mentioned quite a lot when we were gathering our feedback. Therefore, we obviously discussed it as a group to decide if we should edit it or keep it as it is. As the main reason that came up about the length was the fact that it made them feel "uneasy". However, this is what we aimed for with out film opening as it reflects the mental state of the character and gives an insight into how she would be feeling by portraying this through the long shots and uneasy atmosphere. Also, as they felt as though they were waiting for something to happen, it builds anticipation of what is to come, which encourages them to watch on. Therefore, leaving it on this "cliff hanger" type ending, ensures that they remember this film opening and would want to watch on should it be made a full length film.

Changes we have made

Since gathering feedback we have been putting it to use and making changes to our film opening. The changes we have made are:

1. Cutting the end of the zoom as the camera could be seen in the back
2. Extending the length of the establishing shot 
3. Adding an audio clip of laughter to the flashbacks
4. Slightly extended the black screen between the production company and the film opening by one second in order to give a clean cut introduction
